Joining the Die-Casting Committee of the World Foundry Organization

Fabian Niklas has been selected as one of the new working members of the die-casting committee of the World Foundry Organization!

It is such a recognition of my know-how and the voice I’ve become in the industry. Especially when you see that the other members are the leading members of their national foundry organisation, or university professors, they are from global companies everybody knows, or even car makers.

And this exactly shows how valuable the insights I post are for the industry. And you can also use this as an example of how impactful an active digital communication strategy is. Casting-Campus stands out as much as these global entities.

I’m looking forward to working with the committee to solve the pressing issues of die-casting, which are:

  1. How can we as an industry compete with other production processes? Foundries fight each other on every contract to win with the cheapest price. That isn’t healthy. So the mission is to expand the application spectrum of die-casting and compete with other casting, welding, or even forging processes.

  2. Casting Knowledge is often concentrated in some companies, foundry organisations, or individuals. How can this know-how be shared worldwide to bring everyone to the same level and expand the scope of casting? This also ties in with point 3.

  3. The foundry industry is lacking young people entering. How can we change that? What is needed for them to understand that in casting you always learn new things and never get bored? And then, from the second point, how do we get these new hires up to speed very quickly?

These topics will be highly relevant for everyone, and I’m looking forward to contributing and influencing our industry through the committee. Stay tuned for more updates.
