India’s die-casting industry lags behind China due to costly imports, limited local demand, and gaps in raw materials, but future growth signals a potential turnaround.

Understand how fostering innovation is critical for business success through real-world examples from 3M and Kodak. Learn how to nurture intrapreneurs, set realistic expectations for new technologies, and build a culture that supports innovation and growth.

Rheocasting slurries behave differently, offering advantages in high pressure die casting dies. Unlike traditional HPDC, where liquid metal quickly fills every corner, semi-solid slurry tends to flow straight, potentially ignoring perpendicular features initially and leading to porosity or defects if air gets trapped. The 2022 NADCA paper by Hartlieb, Jansson, Tawil, and Bergeron explains that the laminar flow of Rheocasting pushes air out of the cavity without entrapping it, filling even thin and tall ribs easily. For more insights, refer to their detailed study on Rheocasting for Rivian’s production.

Assess expert insights on managing geometric distortion in gigacastings, the complexities of straightening, and risk mitigation strategies for large projects. Learn how changing user values, especially those of European car manufacturers, impact the automotive industry.

Master semi-solid casting with the Rheocasting Masterclass. Go beyond HPDC limitations and acquire new applications for your foundry.

Learn Rheocasting with ease through spaced, brain-friendly webinars. No travel, no burnout, just effective learning that fits your schedule.
A presentation about Rheocasting brought Fabian Niklas to Chongqing in China. The world’s largest city no one knows, with 32 million people. You can get a few impressions of this three-dimensional city in the pictures.
Thank you, Jeffrey Zhou 周少杰, for the invitation and the warm welcome at the 4th China International Lightweight Industry Conference and Exhibition. The two days were filled with presentations about casting and fruitful discussions. Especially exciting was experiencing the openness in discussions and tours during times when trade restrictions divide the world.
And I hope that my presentation added to that cultural exchange by showing what Rheocasting can do for our Foundry Industry. If you are also curious about my presentation, sign up for the “Casting Insights” newsletter on the Casting-Campus GmbH down below. I’ll upload a recording of me giving the presentation. Don’t miss it on Tuesday!
Another highlight was definitely the visit to Chongqing Daijang Millison Die Casting to see a Gigacasting production live and the factory tours of Chongqing Yujiang Die-Casting and Dongke Mould Manufacturing.
See you in the Presentation in the next Post.
