
How to attract skilled Talents without expensive Headhunters?

When I see the marketing and recruiting of foundries, it is as if they have never heard about that interest in our industry and capitalize on it. It is always the same copy-and-paste job listing. Boring! The results are clearly visible: a minimal number of applications from people with insufficient qualifications.
Meanwhile, the gigacasting foundries of industry giants like Tesla and Volvo are aggressively poaching the best talent from all other foundries. Their recruitment efforts are successful, as they have the pinnacle of our industry as leverage. So, the best people are leaving other foundries struggling to find experienced personnel. It’s a challenging situation that many are finding difficult to navigate.
Some start hiring headhunters for entry-level positions. This is a costly approach in a desperate situation, but only if there is an easier way.
The “easy” solution is to be where the skilled people are and awaken their interest in your foundry. Social media is the keyword. And don’t spend a crapload of money on ads that go nowhere. Implement a consistent content marketing strategy and become the hottest place in the industry to work for. This is new territory for most foundries, which used to have three articles per year – one about girls’ day, one about the summer BBQ, and the last about the Christmas party.
