Casting-Campus goes EV and Gigacasting
Working at the cutting edge of foundry technologies, Rheocasting, Gigacasting, and Sustainability are my main topics. It is one thing to work on these things; it is a totally different thing to experience them.
So I said, put your money where your mouth is, and I chose the Tesla Model Y as my new car. It is electric, and I can charge it at home with green energy, reducing my carbon footprint while travelling. It was also the first car model with Gigacasting in the rear underbody. So thank you, Tesla, for disrupting the foundry industry! I’m excited about how the body structure behaves in comparison to other cars that are made with conventional castings and beams.
I’m also looking forward to the experiences I’ll have with electric vehicles. I’m especially excited about how long the trips will be in an electric car. Many people have told me that they cannot switch to an electric car because of long-distance travel.
