A New Chapter begins at the Goldcasting Podcast

The Goldcasting Podcast is entering a new chapter. After three successful years and 76 episodes together with Staffan, I will continue the podcast through Casting-Campus.

While the format will evolve, the purpose remains exactly the same: helping foundries, die casters and professionals understand where the industry is heading and how they can prepare for the opportunities ahead.

The Industry has Changed

When we started the podcast three years ago, automotive was still the centre of attention for most foundries. Today, the picture looks very different. Automotive remains important, but production volumes are shifting, competition has intensified, and many companies are looking for new sources of growth. At the same time, entirely new markets are emerging.

Energy storage, robotics, AI infrastructure, telecommunications, advanced electronics and thermal management are creating exciting opportunities for castings. These industries are growing rapidly, and many of them need exactly the skills our industry has developed over decades.

The challenge is that many of these companies are not looking for a foundry. They are looking for a solution to an engineering problem. That changes the role of the casting industry.

Creating Markets instead of Waiting for Them

For decades, many foundries could rely on automotive customers sending RFQs through established purchasing systems. Outside automotive, that system hardly exists. There is no portal where robotics companies, charging station manufacturers, or AI infrastructure suppliers automatically publish casting projects. These opportunities need to be created. That means foundries have to become visible much earlier in the development process.

They need to educate engineers, explain what casting can achieve and become trusted development partners instead of simply production suppliers. This has become one of the biggest themes at Casting-Campus. Technical knowledge alone is no longer enough if potential customers never discover it.

That is why communication, content marketing, and AI search visibility are becoming increasingly important for the foundry industry. The podcast will continue exploring exactly these topics together with experts from around the world.

Technology will always be part of the Conversation

Of course, the technical side of casting is not going anywhere. We will continue discussing die-casting, gigacasting, alloys, tooling, simulation, process optimisation and new manufacturing technologies. However, technology does not exist in isolation. Leadership influences innovation. Marketing influences which projects reach your company. Digitalisation changes how engineers search for suppliers. Artificial intelligence changes how technical knowledge is discovered.

The most successful companies will understand how these disciplines work together. That is why future episodes will continue bringing together people from different backgrounds who can share their experiences and perspectives.

Why the Podcast is Changing

One of the first changes will be the publishing schedule. The Goldcasting Podcast will move from a bi-weekly format to one episode per month. Producing a high-quality podcast requires much more than recording a conversation. Finding the right guests, preparing interviews, coordinating schedules, editing the episode, and creating supporting content all take considerable time.

With me continuing the podcast alone, a monthly schedule creates a sustainable rhythm while maintaining the quality you have come to expect. It also allows every episode to have a much longer impact.

More than a Podcast Episode

One advantage of the monthly schedule is that every conversation can now be expanded much further. Each episode is supported with articles, LinkedIn posts, YouTube Shorts, and additional content that explores the key ideas in more detail.

This also makes the knowledge easier to find through search engines and AI-powered search platforms, allowing the conversation to continue long after the episode has been published.

For podcast guests, this means their expertise reaches people through multiple channels instead of a single interview. For listeners, it means more opportunities to dive deeper into the topics that matter most.

More Room to Experiment

For three years, Staffan and I built a system that worked extremely well for both of us. Now this format needs to change. Some episodes will focus on industry trends, others on technical deep dives or practical business strategies. The goal is not to change for the sake of changing. The goal is to discover new ways of creating value for the industry. Not every experiment will be perfect from the beginning, but that is part of the process.

Just like the first podcast episodes were not perfect, the next chapter will continue to evolve over time.

The Community will help Shape the Future

One thing I learned over the past three years is that many of the best podcast ideas came directly from the audience. Conversations at trade fairs, comments on LinkedIn, and messages from listeners often led to some of our most interesting episodes.

I would like to continue building the podcast in exactly that way. If there is a technology you would like to understand, a market that deserves more attention or a project that others could learn from, let me know.

If you have an interesting story to tell, I would also love to hear from you. The Goldcasting Podcast has always been about sharing knowledge. That will not change.

The Next Chapter Starts Now

The foundry industry is facing enormous challenges. But it is also facing enormous opportunities. New technologies, new applications and entirely new customer groups are creating possibilities that hardly existed a few years ago. Someone needs to tell those stories. Someone needs to connect the people developing these new applications with the companies that have the expertise to manufacture them.

That is exactly what the Goldcasting Podcast will continue to do, and I hope you will continue joining me as we explore the next chapter of the foundry industry, one conversation at a time.
